Built in 1929 in the Art Deco style, the Scottish Rite Cathedral boasts a 400-seat theater with hand-painted scenes capable of transporting audiences from the Roman catacombs to lush forests to Greek temples and beyond. The mood is enhanced by a 1256 pipe, original pipe organ and a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system.

Next to the theater is the Grand Ballroom with an elevated orchestra pit and an attached commercial kitchen.

A marble staircase leads downstairs to an amazing library, filled with Masonic memorabilia and some of the finest antique furniture in the area.

In addition to the recreation hall, the famous Egyptian Room, the most beautiful lodge room in Texas, offers a unique venue for just the right event.

The building is available for unique gatherings. Whether you are planning a corporate reception, a play featuring our unique backdrops, a wedding or just a gathering of friends and family, you will find a memorable night at the Scottish Rite Temple.

To book your event at the beautiful and historic Scottish Rite Temple, contact our building coordinator, Clyde Wood at (409) 789-9799.

MASTER CRAFTSMAN

I believe that the Ancient and Accepted rite can be placed in possession of a pure and high toned body of Masons in this State (Texas), whose worth and work will entitle them to the respect of other members of the rite wherever located. --Philip C. Tucker, First Sovereign Inspector General for Texas, August, 1, 1866
