KSA National Gathering

Purpose & Objectives

Chapters of the Knights of St. Andrew have sprung-up across the country over the past 20 years. Each Chapter is independent – several even use other names like “Order of the Thistle” – but every Scottish Rite “Black Cap” group has the same objectives:

- To Assisting the General Secretary of their Valley with Reunion help.

- Contribute to charities benefiting children and as sponsored by their Valley.

A first ever National Gathering is planned to coincide with the Guthrie Valley Spring Reunion in 2012. The goal of this Gathering is to improve the communication between “Black Cap” – KSA service organizations to better serve the Scottish Rite Valleys and their charities.  Break out session will give each chapter an opportunity to discuss and share what’s working well in their Valley and open dialogue between chapter members which will carry forward even after the Gathering has concluded.

The Knights of St. Andrew – by whatever name – does not exist outside the Scottish Rite. Chapters exist only to serve their home consistory.  The Guthrie Chapter invites “Black Cap” service organization members to visit the Spring 2012 Reunion to learn ways to better serve – and have fun doing it.

MASTER CRAFTSMAN

I believe that the Ancient and Accepted rite can be placed in possession of a pure and high toned body of Masons in this State (Texas), whose worth and work will entitle them to the respect of other members of the rite wherever located. --Philip C. Tucker, First Sovereign Inspector General for Texas, August, 1, 1866
