One of the Obligation Days of the Scottish Rite is coming up in September. That is the Feast of Tishri or the Feast of the Tabernacles.  This is an ancient Hebrew Thanksgiving that is celebrated by the San Felipe Lodge of Perfection as a Masonic Day of Thanksgiving.  This practice is common throughout Scottish Rite Masonry and has been celebrated by the Valley of Galveston continuously since the early part of the last century until last year, when Ike intervened.  We have a lot to be thankful for this year, and it would be nice to see a large attendance at this celebration.  One of the nice things about this observance is that our wives, or significant others, are invited to join us.  This is a FEAST DAY with Toasts of Obligation and a guest speaker.  This is not an event for children simply because they would be bored by all of the talking.  Please check your calendars and try to make this special day a day reserved for the Scottish Rite.  If you can make, please let us know here in the office so that we can plan the meal for the appropriate number of people.
